Cassandra and Miller were planning a destination wedding in Colorado. At first, they were hesitant to come to Colorado for their included engagement session because they would have to fly in for it. But I explained to them how important engagement sessions were as they helped us to get comfortable with one another. They also let me learn you as subjects to know which ways to pose you and work with you best! Cassandra was finishing up veterinary school and decided that a little vacay to Colorado after graduation wouldn’t be such a bad idea. They visited in May and it was the perfect time of year for a session in the mountains! The grass was green, clouds danced in the sky, and the wildflowers were starting. We started up at Lost Gulch Lookout in Boulder county for those epic mountain views. We could’ve stayed there the whole session but it started to hail after a while so we hightailed it out of there for a second location. We headed over to a well known trail in Boulder that give beautiful views of the Flatirons and finished there.
I love shooting engagement sessions in Boulder because they have so many options. If my clients are up for it I’ll usually suggest grabbing a beer before our shoot so that way they can start to relax before we get to the session. Cassandra, Miller and I headed onto Pearl St for some brews before we headed up the mountains. It was the perfect way to start the evening! My clients are generally very laid back and fun. These two qualities lend themselves perfectly to an awesome session and even better images.
If you’re looking for a photographer who is down for anything and able to capture the raw moments between two people, look no further. I’m now booking Spring 2019 engagement sessions and Summer/Fall 2019 weddings.
