Snowboarding Elopement Photographer in Colorado

I’ve been snowboarding for over 20 years and have had the chance to get to teach at Loveland Ski Area, a small local resort on the Continental Divide. So becoming a snowboarding elopement photographer in Colorado has been a dream of mine since starting to document elopements in 2018. I’m so excited to finally be on the map for couples as an adventure photographer who can chase them down the hill as they shred the pow. Bowls and tree runs on a powder day are heaven on earth for me. Just slightly more than hiking in the mountains to catch the gorgeous sunrise alpenglow, but it’s a tight race for first in my heart.

You know those people that you meet and you just instantly want to be their friend? That is Brittany & Nick for me. They’re original elopement plans were to do a snowboarding elopement at Whistler Blackcomb in Canada. But the pandemic put a damper on those plans. Just like it had done for my husband and I’s plans to visit Whistler in March 2020. Their next favorite mountain is Breckenridge so that was their backup plan. And I’m so grateful it was because that led them to me, it was fate written in the stars.

Brittany & Nick traveled out with their family from New Hampshire. They wanted their favorite people involved in their wedding day but knew that a ceremony just the two of them on a side of a mountain with their snowboards was their true elopement calling. It was sub-zero temps outside so we all got extra layers on before heading out. Brittany’s mom, sisters and daughter helped her get ready. We were thankful for big windows with snowy mountain views as none of us really wanted to go outside until we had to because it was below zero. It was the perfect cabin to host their family and Breckenridge is a wonderful winter town for everyone to enjoy, even those who aren’t riding snow.
