Amy & Kevin’s Winter Elopement at 3M Curve RMNP

Winter Elopement in Estes Park, Colorado

This winter elopement at 3M Curve in RMNP was so fun! The couples who choose to elope in Colorado in the winter are generally up for anything. Because if you’re eloping in the winter – or really any season in the Colorado Rockies – you can get any kind of weather. So to me you are committing to persevere through any weather for your love. And I just love and want to chase that love all around on snowy adventures.

Amy & Kevin first reached out for a summertime adventure elopement somewhere up a mountain in the San Juans in a rented 4×4 celebrating with beautiful new landscapes & adventures just the two of them. But you know, life happens and next thing we know plans are changing and you have to go with the flow. Their adventures have no off season so why should their celebration of love & union?! So we landed in beautiful Rocky Mountain National Park a quick 1.5 hours from Denver with their mothers and children. We were forecasted a socked in and snowy day but in true Colorado delight the weather turned. We had blue skies with every visible peak for their entire day. And as soon as we headed to their dinner the clouds rolled right back in for a very ominous sunset.

It’s not until you come to know winter that you learn of it’s calm & peace like no other place. But you can’t come to know winter well without a bit more of an investment in clothes and gear. Being prepared for winter is a little more expensive with layers and gear. But there are places to rent almost everything you need. You’ll find far less people enjoying nature in the winter. But those of us who do always have a few core values that line up. So you can imagine my excitement every time I meet a couple who is up for adventure at any time of year, but especially in the winter. Not many people love it unconditionally the way I do.
