When Rohan told my husband (they’re cousins) that he wanted to bring his girl to Colorado to elope on top of a mountain in a few months, we quickly jumped into action. This was the first real elopement that I’d get to photograph and so I offered to do it as their wedding gift from us. A few of their closest friends came along on the trip making for the best party ever. The photograph of the guys is on our couch when they were recovering from drinking a handle of Jameson the night before the wedding day.
Cris made the most beautiful bride in a dress from Lulus.com and a cute faux fur shawl. She made the flowers and boutonnieres herself with an array of Whole Foods flowers we picked up the night before the wedding. The cake was a perfect little cake they had for sale in Kim and Jake’s Cakes in Boulder, CO. She decorated it with flowers on the spot at dinner and it was perfect. The whole day made for the perfect elopement as I got to watch the love that poured into it from all directions.
Rohan did a ton of the planning to start off. He surprised Cris with the idea of eloping during their vacation to Colorado just a few days after proposing. He reached out to us and we got to planning. Once they got here Cris took over with DIY charm. My husband got ordained to be able to marry them. It was such a family affair and was absolutely beautiful watching two people who were so clearly in love with each. You could see it on their faces during their vows that they each knew that this was it; the one you wait for, the one who is meant for you, the one you’ll spend the rest of your life with.
The day couldn’t have been anymore beautiful! It could’ve been a little warmer. lol You won’t regret clicking below to see more from the Lost Gulch Overlook Elopement!
