As a Colorado snowboard wedding photographer days like this just make me giddy. Yes, I document ski weddings and snowy elopements of all kinds. But as I am personally in love with snowboarding, I can only try to explain how excited I get when two snowboarders love it as much as I do and want to say their vows on the side of a run. It’s why I created Elope on the Slopes – though it doesn’t matter if you’re skiers getting married on the mountain or even how you get onto a snowy mountain – I love every aspect of winter mountain elopements and weddings. I’ve never been scared of the cold. I guess being born in South Dakota and raised swimming in springs that were always cold in Florida has made me not shy away from the snow in Colorado. As long as you have the right gear on & can stay moving then you are never really that cold anyways.

So to my delight, Erin & Jim wanted to exchange vows and rings slopeside (literally) on a ski run. That’s my kinda snowboard wedding y’all. Plus Breckenridge is a beautiful backdrop and an awesome little town for any ski or snowboard elopement. They chose to ride in the morning and get to enjoy their day shredding together before they continue their celebrations off the mountain later. This was the perfect timing as Breckenridge mountains face east so the sun was perfect lighting every single run we did that morning. It was a Colorado snowboard wedding photographer’s dream come true. Okay, it’s my dream. And definitely, Erin & Jim’s dreams came true as they rode side by side on a fairly less busy day on the hill.
